No problems with her so long as it comes out of the donation till. The next thing to get is Scanahand... but in the meantime I've got a handful of older fonts to fix up this week. That'll include Jump Start, which I'll go ahead and proceed with even though I haven't heard back from the apparent authors. :S

On the other hand, I did get just enough donations now from dafont to get the upgrade to 6.2. Yay, me!

You'll need a graphics program at SOME level, just to get the handwriting digitized.. Scanahand, from high-logic, will get you started.

It's easy enough to make into a font, but since the letters are a little irregular to one another I'm guessing this was hand-drawn (or, as hand-drawn as Photoshop gets) on top of an existing font, altering the individual letters.

Seriously, thanks. I didn't even realize that it was shoving that in there. I'll definately be cleaning that up in future updates! (Sadly, I JUST finished a font about a 1/2 hour before seeing this... heh.)

As for getting the errors, 5.6 gets a LOT of them and works pretty well, but it doesn't highlight problem countours in edit mode for me. (Is there a setting I'm just missing here?) That's really what slows down the error-cleaning process for me. It says that there IS an error, but doesn't always show me where it is.

Some of it, but not all. I'm on an older version of FontCreator that doesn't quite handle all of the 'incorrect direction' bugs. Since I promised the wife that I won't upgrade until I get the donations to cover for it... they're manual fixes for me for the time being.

Lots of errors, both in the headers and the individual glyphs, probably because it's a legacy font from Fontographer 4.1. All the fonts I migrated from that when I went to FontCreator had similar problems. Not too hard to fix, but tweaking the glyphs to lose their errors will take a little time (pinning down which 'hole' has the error points is a pain).

Hmm... well, looking at the license it DOES say 'free for any use' for this font. The file itself lists it as such, though it's got some bizzare options in the editing. I'll try to contact either of the authors and see about getting them to update it or simply just take it over, though.

I only check in here weekly, so the 'you must read this post and respond within 24 hours' was a bit unreasonable for most people. If you would be so kinda, send me a sample of each font you want to work from to jaynz at q dot com and I'll see what's out there for you, however.

Are these Anglophone symbols or Cherokee symbols? If it's the latter, it'll be ethnic, I would imagine...

Short answer, use a different font that allows you to embed it.

Long answer, get a proper license for using that font. Use THAT version of the font in your document to allow for embedding, and be sure to follow your licensing contract.

Tail end of January... I'll give it until the end of the month then do a large resubmission of the remaining fonts.

I've got them used so many places now that I can't keep track. Hasbro uses my Transformers fonts, as well as IDW. The overwhelming majority of second-tier RPG products use at least one of my fonts... I've seen "Beast Wars" and "Adventure" nearly everywhere. If I'm out for a day, it's a safe bet that I'll see at least ONE of my fonts used somewhere.

I've got a few fonts in my catalog that aren't here on dafont.com . I know I uploaded a couple of the missing fonts, but I don't know if they've been rejected or just slipped through the cracks. If there are issues with the fonts, please let me know.
