@donshottype I assume the different K and R of the example is from it being an .OTF with different variations of those letters. @vinsgraphics if you design direct mail ads featuring Subway, why would they not make their font available to you? Do you have a Brand Standards guide or anything like that? Seems like very bad marketing on their part, I've never heard of a company having a proprietary font that they didn't make easily accessible for people who need to use it.
It only took about half a year, but I accidentally stumbled onto the correct font for this by chance, it seems to be called Brother 1816:
