I have been searching for it as well!

The closest thing I've found is "Lemon Butter Display Font" by Marshall Taylor on Creative Market. It's less condensed and "intentionally imperfect."

Please let me know if you find out what font Subway is using. Thanks!

It only took about half a year, but I accidentally stumbled onto the correct font for this by chance, it seems to be called Brother 1816:

Posting it here in case anyone else happens to be looking.

Thank you for sharing, Andrew1988!! It's a great font and pretty reasonably priced, too!

The new Subway corporate fonts are called ... get this ... SixInch and Footlong. They're obviously custom designed for Subway. Now, if I can only get my hands on a link to download ... (I create Subway ads for direct mail, but no one has the fonts!). ..

The ones mentioned above (Brother 1816 and Lemon Butter Display) are close ... but not quite.

Subway website uses Footlong

Sixinch is lighter weight of same font.
Font in this ad is different from Footlong.
Suggestions so far don't have close _K_ or _R_.

@donshottype I assume the different K and R of the example is from it being an .OTF with different variations of those letters. @vinsgraphics if you design direct mail ads featuring Subway, why would they not make their font available to you? Do you have a Brand Standards guide or anything like that? Seems like very bad marketing on their part, I've never heard of a company having a proprietary font that they didn't make easily accessible for people who need to use it.

I checked Footlong contained in the woff on the website. Does not contain the _K_ or _R_.
Also note the many differences between Footlong and the letters in the carved turkey ad.

@Andrew1988 -- you would be correct, in most cases there is a style guide and various elements available to vendors. Not so, at least not yet, for Subway. My inquiries haven't been returned.

In the past, we used whatever fonts/styles we wanted. Most of the time it was Franklin Gothic or similar.

Got the answer. The font in the initial post is Brooklyn Samuels Five Fat, as described.

It's different to the fonts Subway is using on their website, SixInch and Footlong.

Here's how to get these:

1. If you're on the Mac, and you have Firefox, go to Subway.com
2. Right-click and choose "Inspect Element"
3. In the lower right window, choose the "Fonts" tab to see a list of all fonts used in the webpage
4. Both the Subway Footlong and Subway SixInch fonts will be listed; there is an http link to download the font file (woff) (see below for Footlong, next reply for SixInch)
5. If you have FontXPlorer X Pro, it will automatically install the woff files, ready for use. It's that simple.

Done.

Credit be where credit is due: I searched for "how to extract fonts from a website" and a YouTube video on the subject came up. Ignore the video, it's too complicated and unnecessary. Go to the comments. Look for Alice Wood's comment (probably the top one). She has the answer. The only difference I found was with FontXPlorer X Pro; instead of trying to convert a woff file to otf or other, the app installs it as is, converting on the fly.
