Ah, yeah, I haven't added lowercase to Probert yet. I should get to that sometime, but I'm still finishing up the updates to the Transformers-related fonts and I'm not entirely sure which flavor of lower-case I want to make happen for it. :S
I took your original request the wrong way, and for that I apologize. This site DOES get a lot of 'I want a free version of X' requests which are thinly-veiled attempts to get pirated fonts. The best way to ask for what you're wanting, though, is to say "I'm looking for a clone of Arian (Eurostile) which includes lower-case glyphs". As it was, I took it (erroneously) to mean that you were looking for Arian, for free.

If I wanted to pirate a font I would look on a torrent site, I am looking for a similar font I can download...and yes for free. I'm sure you are proud that you have paid for every font you have downloaded.
Or I make them myself... a lot of my fonts were made either so I could a) customize them myself, or b) a version that I had seen was charging an obscene amount of money for the typeface. Since ALL of my fonts are freeware, I'm not exactly sure what you're trying to obliquely accuse me of, except to try to say "Yeah, I pirate some fonts, and I know you do too!" ... except for, of course, the fact that I DON'T.
Also, if you're looking for a Eurostile clone, there are a few on this site. "Probert" is one that I made, though it's primarily meant to match the text of various Star Trek technical manuals made in the 1980s. There are some minor differences, accordingly.

What you're looking for is a free version of a copyrighted licensed font, right? IE, you want to pirate a professional font and are looking to the fonting community to do that.
Why do we keep getting these guys?
Looks like an older version of my '
Hauser' font.

I suggest they just buy Scanahand.

Like I said, I checked out the font. The licensing information is very muddled and fairly questionable. Seems like NBC made an honest mistake here, and P22 is hoping for a juicy settlement rather than this being 'evil large corporation is screwing over a smaller one'.
Wow, I figured they were complaining about the 'Potter Titles' which has been cloned more than a few times. But they're making a claim on the HANDWRITING font used on occaision in some of the prop art? Worse, it's based on scanning handwriting samples from a French artist who passed on in 1906?
Sounds like P22 is getting greedy here. I'm not sure they can claim too many rights on something they admit on their page is taken from someone else's work to begin with and has passed into public domain...
She needs to recalculate the metrics of the font. It's not exactly hard to do, but it's an edit to the font itself.
Does anyone know what the heck has happened to this board in the past few days?
But, Claude... I want someone to do all that hard work FOR me! :P

Survey Thanks, G3. By the way, your font is up as of today.

Survey A lot of my fonts, particularly older ones, were made because I couldn't find (or, in some cases, just afford) the existing ones. Right now I'm actually working on a font that I couldn't find which wound up being pointed out to me as 'Clone Wars' on this site. Ugh. So I'm redoing a lot of it to put my own spin on the lettering, while matching the original logo from the request. It happens... easy to lose track of all these things. I've got over 100 of my own, after all.

Survey It's similar to other fonts, including a few of mine, but that's not a big deal. But how long has it been since you submitted the font? I've got a few still in the queue that have been waiting for a few weeks. I, alone, make the poor admin here work their asses off sometimes.

She seemed hostile from the first reply, unfortunately, when I just queried that she was the creator of the font. Though I guess it's impossible to gauge well on the intertubes, as you well know. :(
I did. I got the impression that she wanted /no/ changes... not even that one. :(
Round the edges where appropriate on the '2', 'U', and 'R', so you can be more consistant. Otherwise it's pretty good for retro-chic.
Well, sad to say that while she was quite happy with the additional work I put into the font, she did NOT want to share copyright or credit on it. So, I'm calling it a dead project. I may clone the font outright, starting over with it, but I've got other things to get finished first. C'est la vie.
Well, my fixed and completed version of the font is done. I've sent along the version to her along with updated copyright information. We'll see what she says before I put it up here.
I think it's harmless in this case, so long as she's not giving it to someone else.
And Kat's list there is all the errors in the Nickelodeon font. Messy messy... I wonder if it's even being maintained these days.
Got in touch with her and sent along the request and offer. Will hear back soonish, I hope.
