I appreciate the reply. I figured the font being defective could be the issue.
I'll use FontForge to mess around with the internal font names and see if something seems off there.

I have the well-known typeface 'Interstate'. Each font has it's own .otf file as usual—named appropriately per each font (i.e. Interstate-RegularCondensed.otf).
I have installed them using the standard method (right-click, then 'install') on a Windows 7 PC. However, after doing so, I cannot see them in the fonts folder, and when I try to use the font in InDesign or Illustrator, I can only choose between 3 different Interstate fonts. It's like my computer isn't 'seeing' the fonts correctly and is being tricked into thinking there are only 3 there. Yet I cannot see how this could be a problem as all the fonts are named correctly.
