THANKS!!!!!
Here's the sample if you want to punch it in:
Злая ведьма Варвара
I'm looking for visually close with Latin character set.
It's a Caslon based on designs by Ed Benguiat. I don't know what flavor.
You can always try Kereru. That may be the closest you'll get. It looks a lot like Kohatu, which is currently unavailable. Here's a pic.

If you've got some time you might nose around Iconian Fonts' Website.
Not to send you on a goose chase but it may be there.

He's got a lot of cool stuff to look at even if it isn't.
It also looks a lot like some older Typodermic stuff, but I don't think it's a Typodermic font.

I'll assume you've already looked at this - like you say, close.

Does anyone know what font this is?
I know the "P" is stylized, and probably the "A."
Simplo Heavy Italic is close.
Neutra or Neutraface Text Bold Italic is closer...
Examiner NF Bold Italic is even closer yet.
Anyone?
Try Google Fonts for your webfonts. Serach for a sans if you want it to look similar to what you have.
https://fonts.google.com/?category=Sans+Serif
If your brand gets bigger, you can always change it to something more unique.

"Shareware", "free personal use" etc. means don't touch it with a 3.3 meter pole if you're putting it on the web or designing a logo with it unless it has a specific EULA or license agreement.

Two points.
1. Lettering on book covers in the early decades of the 20th century, and before, were custom designs by lettering artists and usually did not reference a specific font.
2. The letter forms in this book cover reflect the lettering styles of the 1890s and 1900s rather than the 1930s. Perhaps this is a reprint?
The letters in the title are a pastiche of different styles. Creating something similar would require the excerpting of letters from various sources and editing to harmonize weight etc.
For _a_, _h_, _m_ and _s_ Verona TS Extralight is in the ballpark.
Yes, it is in the ballpark - really what I was looking for. That upper case H though... I'd love to find something like it.
Univers.
Try Univers Next Typewriter, you may not find an exact match.
It's probably from a daisy wheel printer or IBM Selectric or something.
Sample is kind of small, Sabon?
