Not being funny, but we can argue about this all day. You have your opinion and I have mine. I have a good, sound knowledge about the legal implications regarding football shirts.

The club or in this case Holland or the Dutch FA/KNVB has exclusive selling rights and copyrights for their football shirts You can be fined £10,000 under the Trademark Act 1994 here in the UK. It is unlawful to apply a registered trade mark to goods, or to make an exact copy of goods which have the benefit of a registered trade mark registration, without the permission of the trade mark owner.

FIFA do not own the trademark of these strips, The Dutch FA/KNVB & Nike do! The intellectual property rights belong to the Dutch FA/KNVB & Nike. All FIFA is, is a international governing body of association football. If the strips were copyrighted and protected by FIFA then they would emblazon all international football strips with the FIFA Logo. Not only that it would be more than likely that Adidas would make all the replica football kits as Adidas is a main sponsor of FIFA. If that was to be the case it would be illegal under both UK & EU law to do that. Look it up!

I'll email Nike about the font as this really isn't helping. I came here to ask about a font, not to discuss who owns the copyright on replica shirts. Oh and if you've ever had a kit manufactured by Nike, as I have on many occasions, you will notice that there is a Nike Authentication badge placed on their shirts.

Sorry, but It's Nike that manufactured the kit and it's design, therefore it is Nike that would have an issue with it, not FIFA. FIFA isn't responsible, nor does FIFA hold the trademarks and/or copyright for the kits.

Anyway, this doesn't really resolve the issue of trying to identify the font, which is to be used for personal reasons and not to produce replica kits. Thanks for your replies though.

I would think that it is more Nike that wouldn't be too impressed, not FIFA. I'm aware of implications regarding this. I am only using it for personal images, not actually for shirt printing or anything like that. I just absolutely adore that font.

You're right New Alphabet is a totally different font.

I know Wim Crouwel has designed many fonts and I know he designed this with Nike.
