I have found that any font that is similar to Appleberry, Sketch Block, or any font that has fine lines on the inside of the font will appear way too thick in Photoshop. I've played with Anti-Aliasing and choosing "smooth" helps, but not all the way. At the same time, I can use the same fonts in InDesign with no problems at all. I'm using the latest version (CC) of Photoshop and on Windows 7.
Bingo! Didn't realize it was all actually lower case. Thanks SO much!
All caps. Note the top of the A, curve in the top of the F, 4 separate serifs on top of the W. Any help much appreciated.
