ask the author in question if it's forbidden or not.

why should it be forbidden ? because it wasn't supposed to be an embroidery file, just a truetype file.
"free font" doesn't mean "open source font" : The use of the font is free, but it doesn't mean you're allowed to modify it.

no idea about your program, as you don't mention its name.

i know it's a different problem, but ... do you know that what you're trying to achieve is strictly forbidden for most of the fonts you may find on dafont ?
Please ask the permission to the author before converting one of his fonts.

sans mauvais jeux de mots, j'étais sous LSD en 2005
j'l'ai viré, c'est une vraie chiotte... pas de màj, pas d'install de pack 2 ou 3 je sais plus,...

bref, si tu cherches un truc gratuit, libre, légal, et qui tourne sur une machine même ancienne, installe Ubuntu.
ou installe une vraie copie de XP, à ce jour ça doit même se donner.
