I hate this, having to drag the info out of someone. One last shot; what do you have and what exactly do you want done? "making it more bold where necessary" equals "and do something" to me.

Fontlab, the better program to turn a type design into a font, is quite expensive and has a steep learning curve. Fontcreator is probably better for a novice in this field. It has its limitations but all the basic functions and is far easier to learn and a lot (may I shout LOT?) cheaper.

Technically speaking, typography is concerned with the appearance of type on a page or screen, while type design is concerned principally with the form of the letters.
