Nice find estabros - I would have thought those background lines were just that... and not part of the type.

At first glance I would have thought Avant Garde - but the "U" does not have a stem.

It looks like Compacta letters
Perhaps someone took their Light Compressed and extended it - so the lines on the ETAL are all skinny.... while the bases are wide... a thought.
