What we see here seems to be a lookalike of a mix of the Lemon/Milk (here on dafont) and the Bifur (Harold Lohner). Not a match, merely a combination of shape and idea. The Bifur, by the way, is a rendering of a Pepin Press typeface.

It is not clear to me what you are after.

1) You need to make a lookalike with the same text using another font that is already installed on the machine you are working with? Forget it. There are fonts around that have some resemblance with the Dax but those are most certainly not installed on that machine. And never will untill the moment that you buy that machine and can do what you like.

2) You need to make a logo with the same typeface as the HIMYM logo but with a different text. That one is simple. Very simple. Goto myfonts.com. Search for Dax. Type your custom text (in whole or in parts depending on the size you need). Make a screendump. Paste that screendump in your image editor of choice and crop. Make a new image. Copy the parts of the text and paste those in your desired lay-out into that new image. As simple as that.

If the project(?) you were given is as 1), the one(s) who formulated the rules would probably create a project for a standard car with a petrol engine to be driven from Boston to Los Angeles with only the amount of petrol already in the tank. The driver would need to cheat to do that project, right? Like putting the car on a trailer.

Now, if the rules do not say that cheating is prohibited, cheat. When you get a project like this that has to do with typography, the machine that you have been given to do this will have a font editor program installed. So with some copy/paste and trace make your own Dax lookalike and use that one.
