Similar. Your image could very well be the old version.
A very similar one is Font Diners' Refreshment Stand.
Look at the path for the font(s). I have not looked at your code but I get the default font so the ones that you want to show up can not be found.
Don't forget to add spurs to the G and to the right of the H. Fonts with spurs always have those both left and right.
Could look like
this. Cut off the bar of that G, add some perspective correction and you have a matching G. (sort of

)
As HNI looks like Berthold's Flange / Brendel's Fleming / Star Division's Flavius Heavy (with spurs added), why not use the G of one of those?

How to distinguish new fonts from old?
... so what is the best way for me to distinguish the new fonts? ...
Sort by creation date.

... also what fonts need to remain in the font folder for windows operation?
The system fonts.
But ... in your case you do not need to install your new fonts. Just download them and save in a separate new folder. When you want to use one double click that one and it will open in font viewer. A bug in Windows up to and including Vista causes a temporarily install as long as font viewer is open.
Then start the application you want to use and ... Bingo!
