Can you help me do the swirls on the Silhouette program?

I would love to know how to do the swirls in Adobe (Mac).

I also would like to know how to get the tails added.
I'm working with my Cricut cutting machine and i have the font downloaded. Love the font, but I also want the tails.

I've tried everything and can't get the swirls to work. It says 3.alt3 if you want the e at the end but hitting those keys does nothing. Better directions needed. Looks like people have needed answers for a long time.
