did not get a reply yet. Can this font be used commercially?

Thank you but I was just told some vectors were stolen
to make this font and it cannot be used commercially.

Best get in touch with the designer of the vectors. Explain what you want to do and agree on a license fee.

Why couldn't he or she download the free font and vectorize it themselves?

Several author of symbols fonts are not the author of the disign itself.
They transform a disign to a font, sometime without ask the permission of the author of the disign.
So, be carefull to use commercialy a font like this and take informations from the author about the original design.
