Can anyone help me on how to add various color parts to dingbat fonts?

May 12, 2019 at 21:09

I am looking for ways to add color to different parts in a dingbat font.

For instance, a pineapple - green leaves, yellow to rest of font, and so forth.

I have searched online but the only option I have found is to use Silhouette Studio. Unfortunately this software can't run on my computer.

Are there any other tutorials?

Any help is appreciated.

Kind regards,

Laura

What you need is a graphics program. Do you have PSP or Photoshop or another program? Those programs have a selection tool that you can select a part of an object to which you can apply a color. What program are you using?

toto@k22, thank you for your reply. I have both PSP and Photoshop. I was actually thinking myself this is the way to go. I want to try making 'neon' and have downloaded some neon styles to use for such effect.

In Photoshop, you can use text effects but that affects the entire text. For coloring a certain segment of a dingbat font, you have to load the text as a selection or rasterize the text and work from there. I am sure you are familiar with the graphic programs that you mentioned.
