Yeah, I would agree with him.

It is close, very close, but this can not be made with the Collegiate. Alas.

Very close, the yellow is suggested font with a stroke added, the red and black is the original image.

You can adapt Varsity too, with exactly same result. IMO, both fonts could be valid. The "M" probably was cutted in two parts, and the left part was slightly separated, thus that double black stroke. Center part was slightly modified also (for better matching with "E" only)

EDIT: btw, left part of the "M" is wider than the right part!
