Font Request For Band!
Hey my band is looking for someone to design us a font or a logo using our name "Breathe Beneath" or just the initials "BB". We were thinking of a like vein and machine kind of theme around the letters. Blood, circulatory system, etc. those kind of ideas.
We would be willing to pay depending on how good the quality of work is.
Why a font ?
For a logo, you need only an image, not necessary a font much complex to create.
Well yeah we don't need a font, just the letters used in our name. Sorry for using the incorrect terms.
Could you be of service?

What is your budget?
For a logo? Definitely under $100. But I mean it depends on the quality of the work, but most likely under $100. Now if you're interested in perhaps designing tshirts, album art, and myspace layouts then we're talking.
Under a 100, count me out.
Me neither. A logo creation is a complex and time consuming work. For 100 bucks you'll never get "the quality of the work" unless you got a friend as a graphic designer who wants to help you.
oh, by the way, let me explain something : you ask designers for quote & references, you pick one of the designer you prefer in your budget, then you sign a contract for a defined price then you pay the price annonced when you receive the invoice. This is how it works ! "We pay if we like" DOESN'T exist...

Lol it's not a "we pay if we like" scenario, and I'm not expected a complex logo. It can literally be two letters just presented artistically and creatively. I can imagine this would be done for even a price of $50.
I understand why you get the "we pay if we like" vibe, but this is the thing. I don't want to give someone $200 to design me something, and then I don't like it, it's totally different from what I imagined, or it's all wrong. What do I do then? Do I just ask them to go back to the drawing board? It's hard to be fair to both sides when it comes to this kind of thing.
The attitude isn't appreciated, by the way.

If the briefing is good and clear, which is a lot more than 'we need a logo', and the proposal does not meet the briefing then indeed it is back to the drawing board. Even when the proposal meets the briefing it is not uncommon that two or three fine-tuning steps have to be done.
Yet, as Vinz said, it is not just shaking a few letters out of the can and done. You want something that represents you, your band, right?
Edit kk:
I have no idea who you are, I can't hear you, I can't see you. I don't know what you do and why you do exactly that. And ... what the logo should communicate » to whom.
Not knowing a thing how could I, or anyone else, possibly make you a logo?

This thread was mainly to find people who were interested in the project, and then we could talk fine details after.
My email is
aesthetic.x@hotmail.com You're probably better off to hire an art student in high school or junior college locally to do it. A hundred dollars is an incentive to someone in school. For a professional graphic designer, it's chump change. It would be one thing if you had a crudely drawn version of what you want, and you asked a professional to draw it for you, but you're asking for someone to both conceive and execute a vague concept for next to nothing. For $100, and I suppose that's Canadian dollars, not a 'Benjamin', you could buy a commercial license to a few of the 'free for personal use' fonts available here, and 'mix and match' letters. Check the Themes section here:

Lol thanks. This is probably the most helpful post so far, but I understand my approach and stated conditions didn't help the reaction of others :P. Thanks for your help.
I would be interested in making a logo, i can make album art, i design t-shirts. I am an art student in secondary school from the UK, let me know if you are interested

Honestly, for $50 I'd do it. Even it's it's a bit complex. LostSoulProductions2012 at gmail(dot)com if you're still in need. T-Shirts, logos, album art, etc..
www.facebook.com/LSP2012 for some examples.
