It's actually a mix between expressions "devoir une fière chandelle" and "tirer une épine du pied". The first one means "to owe someone a candle", and comes from the people who light candle in churches to show their gratitude to their God. And the second one means "to take a thorn out of my foot", which basically means the person is thanking you for relieving him from some pain induced by the search of this font
