In the old times of newspaper printing, the ink could accumulate in corners and to avoid a blob the letters had those small indents. They look really ugly on computers, but it tells us that is an old font (or that mimics one).

Lowercase, not capitals. The capitals have right corners and the lowercase have rounded ones. Try it introducing the text in the page (here
