Hello ! I'm french so excuse in advance some of my english mistakes

So i've been trying to learn to use Fontforge, and it's been going really great, but i'm facing a problem right now.
I've finished creating my font, but i've made every high and low point of my font meet the high and low point of my metric, letting basically no space between letters like "H" and "b" or "j" and "l" while one is on top of the other.
I've been trying to mess with the ascent and descent in the General and OS/2 options, but i can't manage to figure it out.

Could anybody explain me a bit more about all this, if it's even possible to fix my problem ?

J'ai besoin de plus d'espace entre mes lignes.

EDIT: Je crois que j'ai trouvé une solution possible, j'ai simplement réduit la taille de mes glyphes, mais c'est laborieux, et je suis toujours preneur si il existe un moyen de résoudre mon soucis initial
I think i found a solution. I just reduced the size of all my glyphs by 75%, but it's been a lot of work (kerning everything again etc). I'm still interested if anyone as a solution to my initial problem
