Even funnier ... with an image like that it is impossible to say which font it actually is. Choc? Staccato 555? Or one of the many rip-offs out there?

I always felt all of Bitstreams versions were rip-offs. They did not want to pay royalties for the names so they made there own and named them as they wanted. Most of theirs are slightly wider...(remember when we use to do letter count for each line?)

The Staccato555 (red) superimposed on the Choc. Not a clone but dangerously close imho.



Yes, when Bitstream started the business they started with all the original Linotype films they could lay their hands on, started digitizing and selling. I was once offered a global corporate license with full embedding rights for two font families for then the equivalent of €130.
