For quite a while now, I've been having problems unzipping a few fonts.
I downloaded three fonts yesterday and could only unzip one. The other
two fonts gave the message "Cannot open file "xxxxxx.zip" It does not
appear to be a valid archive. Using Widows Explorer/Extract yields an
error message as well. In the past I've only experienced this problem
maybe 5% of the time.

Reading through some of the posts here I've seen recommendations to
"Use a different Unzipper". I was using WinZip 6.something. I went
to WinZip.com and downloaded and installed Version 17.0. Same errors.
This is on a Windows 7 machine.

As an example one of the files I'm having problems with is "Southern_Aire".

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Download and install Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm, and I'll bet you won't have those problems.

I gave it a try but encountered the following message when opening "Southern_Aire.zip"...

"Southern_Aire.zip Unexpected end of archive. ???

Sounds like your connection crapped out in mid-download rather than a problem with WinZip. Delete the file from your internet cache (clear temporary files) and try to download it again. I strongly suggest "save as" to a working folder and check its download progress manually. Once it's completely downloaded and you get the message that it downloaded successfully, THEN try to open the zip.

On my computer, I have downloaded this font and unzipped without problem.

I downloaded it probably a dozen times, using "save as" and got the download complete message each time. Each time the file size was different than before. Tried again on my laptop at home and got it the first try. Go Figure.
