What's your favorite straight forward tutorial on making fonts in only illustrator cs5? I'm new to it and can't work it out ! thanks.

Illustrator cs5 doesn't make fonts

gosh darnit, whats the cheapest software for making fonts?
I've made symbols i like in illustrator already, is there any way of bringing them over to the other software?
