After you donate to the Author how to you get the font to download?

You don't have to donate to download a font. The donation is set to reward authors and is totally optional.
To download the font, click on the big grey button stating "download" on the right of the font's illustration.

I tried the download button and it says that the file is not valid. This font is called ELECTRICAL and is donationware. I hit the donation button and paid thru PayPal and the download button still does the same thing.

Like Vinz said, the donation is optional, so it has nothing to do with this.

The file you're downloading is said to be invalid. Are you on a wireless connection ? Because this is known to cause some issues, maybe you should try to download on a regular wired connection.

Well, I'm an author who hasn't posted a single font to this site, but who has been downloaded millions of times. I would like to put up a DONATE button so folks who have benefitted from my benevolence can share the love. How do I do that, geniuses? Enjoy your Nick's Fonts in the meantime.

Click on the My Accounts link at the top of all pages here. When you get there, click on the donate link and enter your Paypal account.

You need to get all your fonts already uploaded here associated to your account. I believe the site owner and/or the moderators would be able to help you do that.
