Super Bowl LIX - ancillary branding font

Jan 27, 2025 at 18:18

So this is an interesting one. At first I assumed it was a wholly custom job or taking an existing font and modifying the glyphs to add that rough edge wearing, but seeing the huge amount of NFL vendors using it in completely different contexts and with different characters, it makes me think they just took a font off the shelf. I can't imagine them going through the effort to modify every single character, authoring an entirely new font, and then distributing it out to a dozen vendors.

Nothing even vaguely resembling this is on MyFonts, Adobe Fonts or FontSpring. The random "extended" characters (the long B, O, P, E, R) appear to just be the regular compressed/condensed ones but with random bits stretched horizontally and any vertical characteristics left unaltered.
