Adobe Illustrator as of 1-1-2023 will disable support for authoring True Type Fonts, will dafont.com start producing OpenType fonts for download?

It's PostScript Type1 fonts that are no longer supported.

How can they not support TTFs when variable fonts are only available as TTF?
