Does anyone know what font this is? It looks like Verdana, but the dots on the i seem round, whereas with Verdana they are square.

It actually looks like Tahoma to me.

Thanks for your input MartijnFonts, i removed the "identified" status of my answer.
Besides the hinting, what makes you think it's more Tahoma than Verdana ?

The sample is very low res / distorted / blurry.
At this resolution, both fonts seem to match.
If OP can make a proper scan, I think we could be sure.
