Old french certificate font, "Ç" looks very strange

Jul 18, 2021 at 00:56

Trying to rework an old damaged official certificate of merit from France. The font looks like "Nicolas Cochin" type (Archaic for example), but the "Q" and the "Ç" especially looks very strange to me. Can't find anything in font identifiers.

Any type of font is ok to me.

Thx.

Agree there does not seem to be a digital version.
Closest for most letters might be a Garamond, such as Bitstream's Elegant Garamond. But serifs are not as pronounced. _P_ has a gap and _C_ lacks the serifs. Similar _C_ found in Baskerville and Bodoni.
Suggested font: Elegant Garamond
