I understand the extra lines aren't part of the font. Any ideas what font was used?

Well, about the extra lines all depend on: http://myfonts.us/td-DXL2Io...

EDIT: I know it's not the font at all, but I needed to post it...

It is the pramo?

No, the M is the most obvious difference. The connecting lines themselves aren't part of the original font, I believe.

Pramo is based to Arial
This searched font is based to Futura Rounded.
