If the Font is "Free" / "Gratuit" do i need to contact the author or it is free for "commercial use" ?

Hello,

Me again with my questions about using Fonts for "commercial use".

I have tried to contact many authors of Fonts i like, so i can use a Font to create textures for my video game. (Title, buttons of the menu)
Unfortunately, most authors do not answer or worse there is no way to contact them (no email, no website, no way to send a private message on this website).

So when a Font is classified as "Free" / "Gratuit", does it means the dafont.com team has contacted the author and knows that the Font is free even for a commercial use ?

For example :

Burning Wrath
http://www.dafont.com/font.php?file=burning_wrath&page=1&nb_ppp_old=10&text=&nb_ppp=10&psize=m&classt=alpha

F-Rotten Font
http://www.dafont.com/fr/font.php?file=f_rotten_font&page=1&nb_ppp_old=10&text=&nb_ppp=10&psize=m&classt=alpha

Mainpar
http://www.dafont.com/fr/font.php?file=mainpar&page=1&nb_ppp_old=10&text=&nb_ppp=10&psize=m&classt=alpha

I'm an alone developper trying to make a small video game. But creating a nice Font is not so easy.

Thanks,

Thanks for the Tim Lyle email, i emailed him.

I had some replies by the authors of these fonts :
"MotorheadGrotesk" is Free For Commercial Use
"Dirty Socks Skinny" is Free For Commercial Use

What about the others labeled as "free" "gratuit" on dafont.com ? Are they free for commercial use ?

About the "Frankendork" font, it is written "freeware" in the FrankenDork.ttf file when i open it.
Does "Freeware" mean free for commercial use ?

It's impossible to contact Omega Labs, the email does not exist anymore.

Thanks,
