I've downloaded 5 free fonts and the WINZIP is asking for a password?

Nov 20, 2010 at 17:51

I have never had this problem before, and before the files can be extracted, it says the font files are protected and need a password. Where do i go for the password? Can someone help?

Thanks, Tony

Fonts on Dafont are not password protected. So you must have found them somewhere else.

Nope, definitely downloaded from here half an hour ago.

Which ones?

Saraband, deutsche_zierschrif, fancy card text, typewriter condensed, & sketch_script_limited_set and it said they are all password protected, enter password.

None are password protected. That is, if you downloaded them from Dafont.

I confirm. I've downloaded all this font and uncompress without it ask me a password (except typewriter condensed that seems to have a problem but not a problem of password).
Perhaps it's a problem with your compress software.

Typewriter condensed opens fine. Which is, imho, the only thing good that can be said about that font. Never been cleaned-up after digitalization of a skewed scan. Brrr ...

Thanks for your replies but am no nearer installing them. I'm asking on another forum (Windows) which may result in something.

Which unzipper do you use?

Nov 24, 2010 at 10:09

You problem is not from the font. It's perhaps you unzipper or your system (Windows).
Are you on a personnal computer or on a professional computer ? If it's a professionnal one, perhaps it's your administrator that put in the system some protection again the zip files (that may include viruses some time).

maybe your unzipper asks for a serial number, no ?
