dingbats
I've successfully downloaded, extracted and installed a font that includes dingbats. How do I insert a dingbat into my text line?
Which font are you talking about?
D Day Stencil. Thank you
There is one symbol in this font, it's the star within a circle, right? It's on a the .notdef, so you need to write anything that the font doesn't contain to get the dingbat, pretty tricky. For example:

When I insert characters from a wingding font I use the number/letter code or select it and then copy/paste. Do I use the symbol/number (in grey text) that appears in the upper box of the symbol?
Are you on Windows? Then Alt+0159 or Alt+0178 or Alt+0179 or Alt+0185 should give you that star in a circle.
That's done by pressing the Alt key, hold it down and type the four digit number in your keyboard's numeric keypad. Remember to set the font to Day Stencil before you type those alt key combinations.
I am in Windows 8. Gave it a try, got a rectangle, small number 1, small number 2 and a large number 1, respectively. Tried in both my Silhouette program (with the results listed above) and my MS Word, which had no results. However, your response inspired me to revisit the font and tried Alt 0164, 0137 and 0167 (all listed) and had results with 0164 and 0167 THANK YOU!!! Issue resolved
