Font Approval Times

May 12, 2014 at 16:58

I uploaded 5 new fonts within a few minutes of each other on 18th March. Two of them were approved for listing on 14th April; the remaining three fonts have not yet been listed. Is this lead time typical?

As a footnote, I should add that the fonts listed on 14th April were brand new fonts and the three remaining fonts are updates of fonts already listed.

Thanks in advance, Steve

Hi Steve,

The answer is in the question You have submitted updates as new fonts, so this is why they weren't added. If you wish to update a font, you should go here and then click on the "update" link next to the font you want to update.

I hope this answers your question!

Hi drf... sorry, I didn't think carefully enough when writing my original post - I did upload the updates in the correct way using the update link.

Don't worry Hum, that's strange, I only see CreativZoo in the update system actually. Maybe there was a problem when you tried to send the files? Could you update/send them again through your member account just to be sure?

Also, the process of updating can take some time, but don't worry, it will be done

Sure, I'll send the file across in a couple of minutes. Shall I also re-send the other two? One was an update to As Cute As... (to add a heavier weight version to the existing font) and also an update to Smiley (again, to add a heavier weight)?

Thanks so much, Steve

Yes please, you should re-send all the necessary files.

Will do... thanks for your support - really appreciate it.

Steve, until a couple of years ago, updated fonts appeared whenever a new batch of fonts was posted, and the word 'update' appeared in a box, with a yellow highlight. Certain designers would submit a font, then update it constantly, so their work would always appear in the first few pages of results for new fonts. They are usually the same people who judge the quality of their work by download statistics.

Bob - I totally understand and I can assure you I'm not trying to use the update system for self-promotion. I have only ever produced updates and/or additional weights in response to customer requests.

Cheers, Steve

Question: Is it possible to update the description box only?

Jan 20, 2021 at 00:14

Absolutely. You only need to update what needs to be updated. If the font/image doesn't change you don't need to upload it again.
