it will depend and what you need. If you need that name/letter "A" only, you can use any image manipulation software, i.e. Photoshop, Corel and even Paint

If you need to write stuff with that modified font then yes, you will need one of those programs for font editing/creating.

How? I've tried to open it with Photoshop, Fireworks, Paint... but they say that "You can't open it"!

just type whatever you need and then use tools to "erase" those parts you don't need. Of course you need to have one of those fonts installed on your PC.
