Fixing "L" on my websites font (WILL PAY $$$)

You would have automatic commercial rights use, but the copyright of the font, distribution, would remain with me (and I could, for instance, release it here or resell it). A fully-commissioned work-for-hire would be much higher in price.

Ok dude I think you're just trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of me. I've gotten messages from other authors willing to do it for less and they aren't saying I have to buy the rights to it on top of what I pay them.

Just to make it.

C'est ridicule.

No, you're asking for a professional level product at cut-rate rates. But if someone's willing to put in all the time and effort and then just give you all the sales/distribution rights to the font in perpetuity, then take the deal. Profit off of their stupidity!

I fully intend to, but are you sure you got the rights understood correctly? You're taking someone elses work, the person who actually made the font, and tweaking the spacing a tiny bit? That doesn't make it your font.

No, I offered to remake the font completely - as in 'completely from scratch' in order to get a working, error-free, complete version. Full character set, italics, bold, the whole run.

I'm not going to offer to remake or tweak someone else's work for cash because that's unethical and I'm pretty sure violates their rights from here to high-water. I can and will quickly fix obvious errors to help someone else on the fly, often for free, but that's NOT what you asked.

Oh no, I don't need bolded or italics, it would be nice to have like a question mark, but mainly it just want the word "Lyricist" to look normal. So fix the problem with the "L"s spacing. I would be happy to pay the author but I can't get a hold of him. Looks like he just posted the font years ago and then split.

That's a bit harsh.

Harsh, yes, but not inappropriate. A lot of guys get on here and think "Well, you just hit the 'make a font' button" and really don't give anyone here their due. I just want to point out that making good fonts takes time and effort and should be respected as such.

That said, I went ahead and made a full version of this font from scratch (XBall) and it should hopefully be up in a couple of days.

Or, pretty much right away - http://www.dafont.com/xball.font
