hmmm unfortunately i don't know how to take a screenshot of my phone screen... i'll try to figure it out !

I just looked up how to take a screenshot on a HTC Desire (I'm assuming it would be the same on the HTC Legend), you need Android and Java SE SDKs installed on your computer and usb debugging enabled on the phone, it seems like a little too much effort for taking one screenshot so I wouldn't worry about it.

01.04.2010 um 11:59  [Ausgangseintrag]  Sites Redistributing daFont Fonts

I'm amazed by the amount of shoddy sites out there that make a living from crawling daFont.com and redistributing the font .zip packages alongside ads. I've had to personally contact these sites to remove my fonts from their sites with mixed results (mostly positive); just yesterday I was offered money to keep my two free fonts listed, an offer which was flattering but immediately rejected. This "offer" demonstrated that this redistributing must be profitable and has given me more reason to hound down these sites.

As an author and/or user do you think this redistribution is right, why/why not? And should font downloads be restricted to registered members to make these "font crawlers" job harder?

01.04.2010 um 11:07  [Antwort]  Fontlab Line Spacing!

First I'd double check to see Photoshop's leading (fancy name for line/vetical spacing) is on "Auto". FontLab doesn't control leading directly but you're able to change the vertical metrics like the descender height which seems to be problematic for you at File > Font Info > Metrics and Dimensions > Key dimensions. Hope this helps.

tested on a htc legend (320x480) it's better but lowercases are still hard to read.
Anyway, it still be useful for led display

Thanks for that; I definitely wasn't expecting anyone to try it out on a mobile device! If it isn't too much trouble for you, would you be able to send me a screenshot?

01.04.2010 um 08:36  [Ausgangseintrag]  Is Zepto Too Small?

Is my pixel font Zepto (http://www.dafont.com/zepto.font) too small at its native 8px size?
Your opinion please.

Creating a font is a labourious task and it isn't simple to explain a single process for making fonts as there are many ways to go about it; you can scan letters you've drawn or images you've taken, vectorise them and put them in a font editor or go straight to the font editor and draw your letters there. I'd recommend reading this brilliant two part tutorial at http://ilovetypography.com/2007/10/22/so-you-want-to-create-a-font-part-1/ and drawing up some differently styled characters on paper to see what's practical to make a typeface from.
