E&F only copied fonts from other foundries so you must be able to find the original or another lookalike in E&F's history.

Was Petras ScriptEF designed by Elsner + Flake, kat?

Petras Script, originally Petra Script, was designed by Petra Beiße.

Thanks, the name change is new to me. It looks like Myfonts is not selling the 'Alternate' weight.

Petra Script and Petra Script Alternate (1994) do not mention the designer in the font data. PetrasScript and PetrasScript Alternate (1997) which are a remix of the Petra Script and Alternate do mention Petra Beiße. The Petra Script and Alternate were then withdrawn by E+F.

I assume, but am not sure, that Petra Beiße found out, objected, and then (hopefully) came to an agreement leading to the remix. But I can be completely wrong on this and way too lazy to ask Petra Beiße: http://www.handlettering.de
