Well, anything handwritten could be a font, actually I can write, let's say, three Times New Roman "A"s. All of them will be different, but all of them should be id'ed as handwritten Times But, in most cases, it's very difficult to see that font "behind" handwritten stuff.

It sounds like a nice little project and I'll be happy to help you - be it not to perfection - but for that I do need a high quality high resolution grayscale scan including as many letters, both upper and lower case, as possible. If you can't do it with your scanner find someone else with a scanner.
