Walter Paggioro (Milano, 1961) è un tipico "font maniac". Già a 14 anni disegnava a mano la sua prima font per il giornalino ciclostilato del paese. Era la versione rounded del "Glaser Stencil" (che verrà digitalizzato più di trent'anni dopo). A 16 anni conosceva a memoria tutti i caratteri in commercio (Letraset, Mecanorma, R41: i trasferibili, in una parola) e da studente in estate ebbe la fortuna di lavorare in una tipografia vecchio stile, di quelle che usavano i caratteri di piombo e legno per intenderci. Le sue realizzazioni (oltre ai 10 font su dafont) sono presenti nelle librerie di Monotype. La sua font preferita è il Baskerville. Walter Paggioro (Milan, 1961) is a typical "font maniac". At the age of 14, he drew by hand his first font for the village mimeographed newspaper.It was the rounded version of the "Glaser Stencil" (which will be digitized more than thirty years later).
At the age of 16 he knew by heart all the fonts on the market (Letraset, Mecanorma, R41: the transferable, in a word) and as a student, during summer holiday, he was lucky enough to work in an old-fashioned typography, one of those that used the lead and wood fonts. His fonts (in addition to the 10 on dafont) are present in the libraries of Monotype. Today he tries to infect his millennials students with his passion, starting from Font Game.
