This looks very similar to "SEARS" -- the old logo. And it looks like it was made the same way. Using Helvetica Obliqued and adding the thin white rule (maybe you could just superimpose the "lightest" weight over the weight you've selected (Helvetica Demi, probably Heavy in Helvetica Neue)... just a thought.
