When you tick the download button you are not downloading the text that you see on screen but a zipped font file. Get yourself a zipper/unzipper like 7zip. Install that zipper/unzipper and when you tick the download button choose to open with that zipper/unzipper. Then drag the ttf/otf file that you see (the file, not the font) to a directory/folder of your choice. As you are on Vista you are one of the last lucky ones that can install a font temporarily by double clicking on that font file. Now you can use that font in any application that can handle text.
When you just want a copy of what you see on screen do alt+printscreen and paste as a new image in your image editor of choice. But, of course, you knew that already.
