Any info on source? Record/CD? Book cover? When?
Some similarity in vibe to Ortem, which lacks the swoosh leg on _R_ and _K_ and is not a serif based design.

Probably hand lettered logo and not a font as such.
The lower case has some of the flavor of Vinque

Like the script, the serif is probably custom.
Seems to be based on Rockwell Extra Bold with the main difference being the deletion of the top serif from _A_.

I suspect this is custom for the magazine.
Commercial Script is close

Agree with Garamond -- perhaps the Adobe version? not certain at this scale--and note that the swashes and the _TT_ ligature were added by the wordmark maker

Good find.
Seems like this could be the variable pressure pen source that the LAND people used to inspire their creation.
A little bit of this, a little bit of that, and PRESTO! a new logo

Edited:
I agree there is little resemblance in the letter-forms. The resemblance is purely in the technique of variable pressure pen nib.
As for Blatz -- hand lettered like most beer labels, but could be the basis for a very dramatic font.
Somewhat similar fonts are sometimes tagged as Baseball or Beer. BTW the price of beer at a Major League Baseball game is outrageous

02/09/2015 alle 23:26  [risposta]  Font on 1950s Car Club Jackets?

William Caslon created this general design over 200 years ago.
The jacket lettering of the 1950s would not have been an exact copy of a font, but rather a simplified rendition that could be sewn on the jacket or silk-screened on it.
The maker would presumably have seen a printed version of Old English Text and used it as a model.
This version dates from 1935.
As for Dieter Steffmann's fonts he said, in effect that they were "improved" versions, i.e. additional characters etc., of existing digital fonts that he felt were not properly available and that he wished to share with the world.
Canterbury is a rip of Old English Text.

Novelty Script is another font produced to mimic the same effect of writing with a pen nib using variable pressure

Is the LAND to whom you refer?
http://www.workbyland.com/design
If so I would say it could perhaps be hand-lettered by someone with some memory of Kalligraphia or a similar font based on writing with a pen nib using variable pressure. Note the the concave ends to the thicker strokes. This effect is not natural when writing with a pointed brush, which is the source of most high contrast scripts with tapered strokes.

02/09/2015 alle 19:15  [risposta]  Font?

Edited:
Marked variation in repeating letters and the connecting stroke angles and locations suggests this is hand made.
Letrista Script has similar letter-forms and some of the vigor of this image.

01/09/2015 alle 18:04  [risposta]  font???

Custom lettering from the 1930s or 1940s.
Closest modern font I can find is RBNo2.bBlack

For a closer _A_ invert the _U_ and add a crossbar.
Minor tinkering for a precise match, e.g. make the _M_ vertex into a point.
