Re-edited:
I was comparing to the Bitstream version of Bauer Bodoni Bold Cond.
Almost no difference with the Linotype/Adobe version.
Earlier post:
Consider the _g_. Top story seems to have more depth than Bauer Bodoni and connection from ball of ear to top story is more curved.

Any other suggestions?

Bauer Bodoni is closer, but I see some differences. Note for example the mid stroke on _a_.

Note the _G_ has a straight vertical section in the foot. Bodoni Bold Condensed has a rounded foot.

Someone with some cash to burn could download a pdf of one of the books and see what's embeded

Edited:
I read an academic paper on the typography of several French literature series which identified Didot as the font for Gallimand Blanche and contrasts this with the use of Bodoni for Les editions de Minuit.

---start quote---
Editions Gallirnard and Les editions de Minuit display
the information on their covers with two different, yet very
similar-looking typefaces; the former uses the Didot
typeface, the latter the Bodoni typeface. Although an
untrained eye probably would not distinguish Didot
characters from Bodoni characters

The series has existed since 1911 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Collection_Blanche_%28Gallimard%29
This seems to be the current digital Didot used for the Collection Blanche
You can download other Collection Blanche covers and they have the same font.
PDF versions are available for purchase and may have the font embeded.

No embedded font on the webpage but it does show most of the letters and numbers
