Callie Hand (2010, Callie Kaiser) has that m.

And the rest too

Yep, far too many characters are dangerously close.

They seem to be, yes, it could have been tricky. Although, I have just checked the two fonts, the lowercase is pretty different when you compare the dots.

The G, I, T, a, c, d, e, f, g, h, l, n, o and t are from Liorah BT. The b, i, r, s, u, and v are dangerously close to Liorah BT. And the j is too close for comfort to BixAntiqueScriptHmk.

I understand your point, and I completely agree, there is an extremely disturbing resemblance. But when I look at the "G", here is what I get. In my mind - I might be wrong, but then, I'm not afraid to learn - a rip-off was something that was simply open and renamed, without any change. But here we can see that the dots are different, aren't they ? So I'm getting a little bit confused about this

lol Only God knows who copied whom

Not all converters convert alike. But I don't think this is a conversion, more a copy/paste IMO.

Liorah BT 1993, Callie Hand 2010. But Bitstream copied from Linotype, remember ...

Is it possible that Callie Hand is based on scans from a typefaces book ? By copy/paste, do you mean copying dots, pasting, adding or removing dots ? I'm actually glad we're having this conversation because in the past, we have faced some questions about rip-offs, and I'd be very interested to learn more about this. Oh if someone has a suggestion about books to read on the subject, I'm all ears - and eyes in that case

Once again, Classics !

Only the almighty king of fonts might tell...

Copy a character from an image (pdf and/or any other image on screen) or as you say scan a character from something on paper, vectorize it and import it in the font editor - in this case FontLab. As a result you have almost the same shape but a completely different rendering and thus a different font. Be a smart girl - as Callie Kaiser is - and you don't use all the already available characters. Change some a bit and add some that don't belong to the already existing font, or even smarter draw a few yourself and claim your own new design.
Now, if Callie Kaiser had credited Liorah and/or the designer Holly Goldsmith it would still be bad but not that bad. But now, taking her claim on http://www.CallieRenee.com into account, to me this is a shameless rip-off.
