Help uploading a font.

29/11/2019 alle 02:00

Hello!

I attempted to upload a new font - Haralson - twice already and I keep getting the same upload problem: kerning /spacing. I am aware of kerning and spacing in fonts, but am not sure to what degree my font is a problem. I made adjustments before re-uploading, but it still got denied. It looked fine in the preview in the program that I made it in (Calligraphr), so I would just like some clarification, if possible.

Thank you in advance!

Hello,

The space between most letters is completely inconsistant. It needs to be adjusted so it somehow looks "similar" and there is no useless space. If you're using the free version of Calligraphr, you can't adjust kerning/spacing as far as I know. So you need to do it with another software.

In the font you submitted, just take a look at its name. There is a huge space between the "r" and the "a" and the "o" seems lost between the "s" and the "n". You should start by adjusting spacing, and then kerning. Here is a very useful link to learn more about it: http://designwithfontforge.com/en-US/Spacing_Metrics_and_Kerning.html
