I got some fonts into my windows live mail sends earlier,( Windows 7) but now I can't. they ARE installed and appear in control panel "fonts". How do I get them into my Windows Live mail fonts to use in e-sends ?

Always handy to understand a tool before using it ...

WTF ? Can anyone answer my question ? koeiekat, thanks for nothing !

It's not possible to include a font in a mail or in a instant message, unless your recipient has installed the same font on his computer.
So, it's besser for a message to use only traditional fonts.

Windows Live Mail is the Outlook Express of Windows 7 (probably Vista also), and you can use EOT in Outlook Express. See this for more info http://forum.fontlab.com/index.php?topic=4712.0 That info is also applicable to Windows Live Mail

Search for other references on the subject on the net. On how to create the EOT font, that page mentions WEFT which is a free download from Microsoft https://www.microsoft.com/typography/WEFT.mspx You can also use the free web font conversion services on the internet to create EOTs of your fonts.

Excuse my ignorance, but what is EOT ?
I sent myself an e-mail and the fonts appeared as I sent them both size and color. I wonder if everyone will receive them as I do ?
As I said, a few of my dafont downloads appear in my regular Windows Live font menu, but others I downloaded are in my control panel fonts menu but I can't get them into the WL menu to use in sends.

The anwser is here: http://www.dafont.com/faq.php#email

EOT is basically a webfont format.

Reply to menhir ( above ) You may be right by saying impossible, even if I use my factory Windows Live loaded fonts, no matter how big or what color, my friend says they appear as regular fonts.
So,...why download or even try to use dafonts ?

As long as you don't understand what you are doing you can not control what you are doing. Thus, learn.

It's not a opinion, it's a fact.

Send a mail is not the only thing possible to do with a computer.

To koeiekat;
Shove your sarcastic retorts up your rectum and then lick them ! !

This kind of message is not the best way to get help.

@josiewhales: in a word processing app, you can use all fonts installed on your computer. In e-mail, you can use any of the fonts allowed by the e-mail server, usually about 15 or so common fonts like Garamond, Arial, Comic Sans, Verdana, Times New Roman, etc. If you want to use a different custom font in e-mail, you'd need to use it in a word processing document attached to the email, there's no connection between the fonts you have installed in your operating system, and the ones available for use in an browser window of e-mail. You can't make your shirt turn red, just because you have a red apple in your refrigerator. What you seem to want to do can't be done, because your e-mail server is not an installed application in your program files. That's what koiiekat was saying, less politely.

You are right.

What was impolite in "Always handy to understand a tool before using it" and "As long as you don't understand what you are doing you can not control what you are doing. Thus, learn"

I am stating that to achieve a desired result one has to know how to. Yet, maybe, in Ohio (Dayton?) it is the other way round

I didn't say that your reply to this question was impolite, koeiekat. I merely, and accurately, stated that your reply was less polite than mine.

If you need to drill a hole, use a feather.

Enough said on this matter, can we put it to rest ?
Dafonts are a useless novelty that will not function in e-mail sends ! CASE CLOSED ! ! !
