The effect is subtle, and you can't really see it very well here on DaFont, but the letters have some blood/paint splattering around them. It's subtle, even when zoomed in! But it's there.

If you're worried about the "faded character" look, one way to deal with that is to apply a stroke to each letter's path (in the same colour). That's easy to do in, say, Illustrator, but possibly tough on other applications.

That said, this is a fun font :)
