Kerning - letter spacing

Jan 11, 2012 at 01:07

How do I add kerning (letter spacing) to a font.
I am using Microsoft Silver light.
and the program FAILS in regards to kerning. the best way to deal with this is to mod a font so that it has the spacing by default.
Please let me know.

hi,
- you must be sure that you're allowed to modify the font file (as it's usually forbidden) by reading its license
- you sould use a font creation software to modify the kerning (and re-export the font file) : http://www.dafont.com/soft.php#3
(- you should quit using Silverlight as it's probably going to disappear really soon)

If you use a text editor (like Word), you can modify the Format of the texte, using a condensed or expanded options with the good ratio.

So "If" I am authorized to Alter the fond spacing
How would you do that dynamically and then save the font?

With a fonteditor. See 'Tools' above.
