'Free' fonts - What can they be used for?

Jan 09, 2014 at 15:36

Hello I was wondering if any of you can help me.

If a font is marked as 'free' what exactly does that mean?
The font has no other information, on site or in the downloaded zip file.

I'm guessing this means that the font is 'free' for commercial use?

Does that mean I can use the font in artwork that I would be selling?

Thanks in advance.

Which font(s) are you referring to?

In most case, free means free for commercial use. But the only way to be sure (in the case where to further info is offered) is to contact the designer for a commercial licence.

Tell us which fonts and perhaps we can help you get more information.

Hello!
I was looking at this font - http://www.dafont.com/anothersunday.font

I have private messaged the author but no answer as of yet.

First seen on DaFont: June 22, 2013

Nothing much is to be found inside the font file either except that it was made using myscriptfont.com...

My guess is that it really is free but I would definitely try to reach her first: temporanigra@yahoo.it

Good luck!
